PREP Write out these terms under the class post and define them:
SCHEDULING - the day and time a programme is arranged to be aired on TV.
LIVE TELEVISION - this is any programme on TV that is being broadcasted in real-time . The events are live and are happening at the same time they are being viewed by the audience.
'SECOND SCREENING' - this is where audiences use social media when viewing live TV. They can get involved in online discussions and tweets about the programme they are watching. This is called second screening and it encourages the audience to be active rather than passive.
AUDIENCE INTERACTIVITY - this is where viewers are encouraged to vote for their favourites on programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing. It increases the number of views and also increases the viewers loyalty and commitment to the channel or programme by voting on a regular basis.
THE WATERSHED - this is the time where TV channels can begin to shown content that would be unsuitable for children. In the UK the time for this is currently 9pm.
PEAK VIEWING TIME - this is the time of day when the majority of people are watching television and when the advertising costs the most. The time for this is 6pm to 10:30pm
HIGH PRODUCTION VALUES - money spent on the production in terms of design, set, costumes, location etc to make the programme look good
